ABOUT MANKIND BARBER LOUNGE

Welcome to Mankind Barber Lounge, Sarasota's finest barber shop and first downtown black-owned business .  Opened by our head barber, Dennis "Hootie" Ford in 2020, Mankind Barber Lounge is your one-stop-shop for every aspect of men's hair grooming, including haircuts, beard trims, fades, shaves, deep conditioning, hot oil treatments and much more.

Incredibly, Hootie's barber experience started when he was around 12 years old, cutting his friend's hair here in his native Sarasota.  Hootie's first shop was on Tamiami Trail in South Sarasota, until he was forced by the sale of the plaza to move the Palm Avenue location. 

This spring Mankind will be opening a second shop, Mankind Barber Lounge II at Fruitville Rd and Lime Ave in Sarasota.  Later this year, Hootie will be bringing his expertise and the Mankind Barber Lounge experience to Las Vegas, NV!
